Lledoner Pelut, a variety not known to many outside of the area is a mutation of Grenache that grows locally. During the first 2 weeks of fermentation there is constant work to the fruit, regular pigeage and remontage. The wine is racked and left on his fine lees for 12 months in stainless steel without fining, filtration, or added sulfites. Maquis offers a nose of red currant, blood orange, black cherry laced with nutmeg and wild costal herbs and licorice. The texture is elegant and the palate is ripe delivering more rounded fruit, lasting freshness and velvety tannins.
