Grapes are planted on flint (and some clay and lime); you can imagine what this does to the nose. Wine is made from 50% Pinot Noir, which gives mushrooms sour cherries, plums, wild strawberries and raspberries. The other half of this happy marriage is Gamay, who brings in the earthy, gritty smokiness and funk. Super glou, but you can certainly introduce it to your in-laws.
